Photovoltaic panels, sensor-activated LED lights and air-sourced heat pumps are used to reduce energy consumption. On-site electronic vehicle charging points support the speedy transition to electric vehicles.

Smart technology already fitted at some of our units is helping our customers be more energy efficient. For example, we have sensors that provide real-time data insights to help monitor temperature levels, sound pressure, energy usage and air quality.

We are using smart bins, which compact rubbish so more waste can be held. Data on the volume of waste in the bins is sent to estate management teams in real-time. This means bins are now emptied only when required, reducing vehicle movements and ensuring greater efficiency in waste collection.

Green walls at our developments help purify air, regulate temperature and create a more enjoyable surrounding for occupiers. Insect boxes create suitable nesting habitats for important native pollinators. We have over 330 beehives across our portfolio.

As shopping moves ever faster online, the pressure is on to increase delivery speeds and remove obstacles at every stage. The e-commerce leaders of the future will need to be able to guarantee same or next day delivery, with a narrow time window.
